A proper brand would never make such a mistake. The announcement clearly stated '1PM PDT / 2000 UTC', yet the vault opened nearly 10 hours earlier. This is misleading and unfair to users. It shows that Alienware is not a trustworthy or professional company. Such disorganized, careless behavior is what you'd expect from some random back-alley brand. I expect a serious explanation.

Mistakes happen. You don't need and aren't owed more of an explanation than that. When you pay for a membership to Arena -then- you can feel entitled to more.

@StompsDaWombat I spent something more valuable than money here: my time. Not paying doesn’t mean I can’t call out mistakes. Launching 10 hours early after giving a set time is pure amateurism. This isn’t how you respect users.

You can call out their mistakes (though, I'm pretty sure they're well aware at this point with everyone screaming at them) but, like I said, you can't expect/aren't owed a better explanation than it was an error.

@StompsDaWombat The problem is that this wasn't the first mistake we've had with the vaults, and the fact that the admins always give vague explanations, almost with disdain. You're right about one thing: no one pays to be here. 🗿

@StompsDaWombat Mistakes happen, sure but misleading users by 10 hours and brushing it off as 'just an error' is plain irresponsibility. If no one complained, they wouldn't even care. This mindset is anything but professional.

@dreZmoL - It wasn't the first problem and won't be the last. It sucks when it happens, and maybe it shouldn't, but sometimes people and/or technology fails us. No explanation is going to turn back time and make everything okay.

Proper/professional companies make errors all the damn time. It's why cars, planes, food, electronics, and nearly every product made by humans gets recalled at some point. At least nobody died from this mistake.

I think the $10k of Alienware equipment I have sitting in front of me entitles me to more.

@StompsDaWombat Players spend their time here. The least they can do is apologize and show they actually care about their community. It's that simple.

I'll grant you that they should've issued an apology - ideally as a post on the main page. But, given how much grief they receive from the community whenever -anything- breaks, I get why they might not bother.
