Rocket League 2 you can forget
Rocket League 2 would be nice to see, but in Psyonix they still think it's not time to hang up the existing Rocket League.
“That’s preferable to do; games-as-a-service,” director Scott Rudi told GameSpot and also hinted that he might read Piper Jaffray's report which we wrote a week ago.
"So yeah, we have no plans for Rocket League 2... I'd rather do more to expand the existing Rocket League," he answered when asked about possible future plans of the company. "Rocket League it's doing great, there is a lot ahead of it."
Appropriately enough, Rocket League is currently celebrating three years of active playing and will celebrate its anniversary also within the game, where players in the event especially tailored on the occasion will be able to win a lot of cool, unique rewards. Most of them will be referenced to the older Psyonix title, the Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars (SARPBC), from whose release has passed exactly 10 years.
From July 9 to 23, the game will include a very specific cosmetic items that will not be available after the end of the celebration. The so-called Anniversary Mode will be available to play. In it soccer will be able to play at the stadium thematically designed to look like the SARPBC.
PS4 CROSS-PLAY IS AGAIN A PROBLEM
Also, an update that arrives on the occasion of the anniversary celebration should extend the Rocket League once again, in this case with a lasting possibility: creating a cross-platform lobby and friend list should become enabled. With one remark: While the PC, Xbox One and Switch will be able to support new cross-platform social aspects of the Rocket League without any problems, the PS4 will, thanks to the Sony isolationism of connecting to another console, be only paired with PC.
For the celebration of the 3rd anniversary of the Rocket League this weekend (since yesterday until Monday) you can also try it for free on PC via Steam and if you like it you can save 50% on purchase.
