DICE looks to tone down customization for historical authenticity for Battlefield V

DICE has been interested as of late for Battlefield V to have more authenticity to its historical time period over outlandish customization options. Recently DICE’s Community Manager Dan Mitre and their producer Andrew Gulotta hosted a livestream which discussed some of these changes that DICE is making for the game.

Andrew had this to say during the livestream:

“We heard the community. We’re still looking at World War II through DICE’s lens, but how forward, how crazy we got with some of that? We heard the community, we understand there were some concerns about, hey, where’s the authenticity? We want players to be excited about customizing their characters with authentic gear. We dialed it back a bit. It was pretty crazy. We wanted to offer some authenticity, and that’s important to us, that’s important to our players.”

Though there is still a chance customization will still have a strong place in the game if the fanbase calls for it.

“Nothing is off the table. Again, we’ll watch how the community reacts, maybe we’ll try something. The nice thing about the armory, is we can put something out there, and if it doesn’t stick, it doesn’t stick. But first and foremost, we want to start with this authenticity approach.”

It should be interesting what the finished product will look like as Battlefield V arrives on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 20th, 2018. Comment below if you’re going to preorder Battlefield V. Below is a trailer promoting the game. If you liked this article why not share it on social media. it would be nice if you could finally hear the community, and do what they ask, and not let it past your ears by putting a fat bolt on the testers

Same. Long time fan of the series starting with BF1942, I doubt I'll be buying this one.
