ArenaNet wants to make it easier for players to return to Guild Wars 2

As MMO's are always changing and get constant updates (at least the popular ones), it is often the case players feel left out if they don't play constantly and don't follow all the updates closely. ArenaNet plans to change that. According to a a forum post the folks at ANet want to help players return to GW2 with a new initiative by making the game seem less overwhelming:

When you take a break from a game, one of the things that makes it difficult to start back up again is the feeling that you've missed too much to ever catch up. We want to offer to help former Guild Wars 2 players who might feel that way, so starting next Monday we're going spend five weeks getting those members of our community re-acquainted with Tyria. We'll show how to get your first mount and play through Living World Season 4, pointing out helpful features and updates along the way. Members of our partner program will be joining too, leading players through various open world events.

Plus if you haven't played in years they also provide some help in recovering your credentials:

If you want to join in but can't remember your password, we can help you with that! Go to https://help.guildwars2.com and click "Trouble Logging In?", and our CS team can help.

There's quite a lot of exciting stuff planned:

There will be livestreams, guides, and some more surprises that I won't spoil now, but there will be a full outline and schedule on our site Monday morning.

I'm still upset with GW2, bought on Pre order, played alot the base game, than they make it f2p, released an expasion and people who had didn't get any discount. And now new expasion they released mounts, after the whole trouble of 100% map exploration u.u

Interstellar

Probably not going back after the recent layoffs of a lot of the devs. Waiting to see what new content they're putting out first

Yeah I'm in the same boat, only got HoT and didn't really bother with the newest expansion even though from the gameplay I watched it looked pretty fun. I'll wait a bit more before returning to the game as I wanna see what the recent layoffs mean for the game... Really hope NCSoft isn't going to close down ANet any time soon

The Game Has Done The Right Thing With Making The System Fit Some New Users That Cant Keep Up!

Gw2 is one of the best MMO I have ever played. Having recently come back to the game after a break of one year I can assure that this is true. It's so easy to get back into everything, it doesn't feel overwhelming at all. It's not your usual theme park MMORPG, so do keep that in mind if you want to try it. Check some guides if you are confused on how to level up.
