Blade Runner remaster postponed indefinitely
Originally scheduled for this year, the remastering of the classic adventure game Blade Runner has been postponed indefinitely, producer Nightdive Studios revealed on Friday (23).
"There were some obstacles that we had to overcome in terms of the old technology that the game uses," said Stephen Kick, CEO of the developer, in an interview with Eurogamer. "And our search for source code and original assets did not work."
Created by the late Westwood Studios, the adventure game is based on Blade Runner, a classic sci-fi movie released in 1982. The game was originally released in 1997.
The game takes place in parallel with the story of the film and follows the story of Ray McCoy, hunter of replicants who acts in a futuristic version of Los Angeles.
