Good morning people , presumably I am not the only one , but I had to ask my Alienware 17R3 with Windows 10 , to come out of retirement , because of the latest update ( KB5077181) bricked my daily driver ( DELL 16 ) , full OS recovery, took hours fixing it, and all the rest of it . Right now I have mixed feelings , because I just pulled the trigger on the new Aurora 16 , arriving in a week or 2 , but all these issues with Windows 11 lately dampened my spirits a bit :(

Hello everyone , Happy New Year ! I'm thinking buying the Aurora laptop ( the base 16 , not the 16X ) , as a present for my brother .
Anyone has got one , and what is your experience ? How is the laptop battery life , thermals and fan noise wise , under normal everyday tasks ? Honestly I don't mind the fans under gaming , he is a casual gamer , plus he's got a desktop for that .

It is with great sadness that we share news of the recent tragedy , the founding member of our Alienware ecosystem , my 17R3 laptop , just before her 9th Birthday , has refused to boot up due to hard drive failure , and please respect our privacy during this difficult time . We are hoping for her full recovery , and please feel free to share your experience with regards your longest running Alienware laptop(with original parts) without hardware problem . 9 years surely is quite an achievement .
