The only way to get AWA to recognize that you own the game is to upgrade the license, either by buying The Orange Box (which includes TF2) or by going into the TF2 in-game shop and buying something, like the Tour of Duty Ticket.

Either way, you need to spend money. It's because of this issue that they added a second Choose Your Own Game option. If you're willing to spend money, you get extra ARP from TF2. If not, you can still get the three games worth.
