Cats have a unique vision adapted to twilight due to the ability of the pupils to expand greatly and the presence of tapetum (tapetum lucidum) — a reflective layer behind the retina. This layer amplifies weak light, refracting it back to light-sensitive cells, which helps them see 6 times better than a person in the dark. This mechanism also causes the effect of "glowing eyes" and refraction of light in the eyes, which provides them with high sensitivity to movement.
