Does anyone know how the Flux Artifact actually works, like do I need it equipped while earning the hours, resulting in losing other artifact perks everyday, or do you just need to equip it before the event ends to add to your total? A Steam Community Event starts at midnight UTC, and the system updates progress every 3 hrs for members that joined. I assume an update also checks if a member has equipped Flux at that time, and adds the artifact perk for the progress.

It would be prudent to equip it. That makes it active, which is how artifacts work. While active, it shortens the amount of time you actually have to play, which is the perk mentioned in the description. Having it fully upgraded is best.

Just to be clear: It doesn't retroactively increase anything. It only counts real time hours. So if you've added it late, you've wasted a huge amount of time. It's better to add it before you start. If you've done your part, don't bother.

@zanic_qc I'm telling you what it actually does because I've used it. "Playtime" is the active amount of time you run the game. It's a multiplier for that active time played. It doesn't retroactively add time.

my Flux is still Lv 1 from when it was first given, never used it before, thought maybe with the increased hour count this time around but I've already added over 20 hours without it with no plans to stop adding. Thanks for the answers

@zanic-qc He means the minimum required to play to unlock the personal milestone. If you intend to only play that and not help the overall community goals, using Flux allows you to reach them faster. ^^;

@Indig0-ASH It is useful if you have the full set, to get a bonus on each milestone payout! Has to be equipped when the reward is sent though. Not just when you unlock the personal milestone for yourself.
