Coming Soon: The Steam Game Festival - Autumn Edition

  • 143

Valve really liked the audience they attracted with previous events, so they agreed they'd make a festival something you'll see again. Prepare your wallet - if you've already recovered from the Summer Sale, for the Autumn Edition, where upcoming games will steal the show. Edit: October 7th - 13th. Thanks for pointing out Veggie, forgot to add the dates.

You'll get a chance to try out some time-limited demos (what the hell happened to demos anyway? They've become kinda rare in the last few years), connect with the enthousiastic devs and maybe you'll find some new titles to add to your wishlist.

Steam events often come with sales, but also with nice profile additions. And now, with the new and never-vanishing Points Shop, my guess is that there's going to be new animated stickers, avatars, backgrounds, perhaps some cards or a nice event. Anyway, whether you use Steam as just a game launcher or if you're fully immersed in the social aspect of decorating your profile page, prepare your wallet.

Are you excited or nah? Any games you're looking forward to try? Or can you guess what Valve will do to make everyone spend lots of money I mean, participate in fun events in exchange for XP or nice emoticons?

No, seriously, why did games stop having demos? Is that just me?

Let me know if you ever find a store selling that. I'll buy you an hour - my treat.

I'd be interested in something more tangible like a sales coupon for my points. Items bought with points will sit in your inventory forever as they aren't marketable/tradeable and can't be converted back into points.
