Yakuza: Like a Dragon Has "Near-Instant Load Times" on Xbox Series X

In an interview for Xbox Wire the chief producer of Yakuza: Like a Dragon - one of the 30+ launch titles for the Xbox Series X, stated that thanks to the unique capabilities of Microsoft's new console the players won't need to wait for loading screens anymore since the game has nearly-instant load times"

"Seeing the game run at a smooth 60 FPS gameplay experience or in native 4K with near-instant load times is incredible."

Both the Xbox X and the PlayStation 5 will feature state-of-the-art internal SSDs that are not yet available on the market for regular consumers. According to Sony's Mark Cerny, this would mean that the PS5 loading times will be more than 500 times faster compared to PS4, at least in theory.

It remains to be seen how this will change the gaming industry and what other ways the developers will come up with to incorporate the various loading screen tips, now that the loading times will be virtually non-existent.

Are you looking forward to loading free video games, or will you be missing those short, educational breaks during your gaming sessions?

Shouldn't this be the case for most PCs with fast SSDs? I would think so..

Currently no, these are new, more sophisticated  SSDs that are still not out in the market for general buyers. The new consoles will get them first. Also Sony and Microsoft claim that they will also customize their hardware and software that surround their internal SSDs so they will be able to get the maximum performance out of them.
But yes, this new SSD tech will definitely be available for PC users as well down the road.
