When posting and replying there is a number with arrows above and below in every post and i always wonder what it is for and how one uses that.

Any Ideas?

Do you mean the set of 2 up/down arrows beside each post? If so, they are meant for up-/downvoting a post. smiley I think for some forum topics, you can only up-/downvote replies and not the original post though, not sure why. surprise
