Announced Hitman 2, its not an episodic game
WB Games and IO Interactive have just announced Hitman 2. No, it's not some kind of remaster of Silent Assassin from 2002, but a full-fledge sequel to the last Hitman from 2016. Unlike the last game, this will not be an episodic format, but will already by release have a full set of missions at various exotic locations worldwide.
The first such location is in Miami where Agent 47 in the middle of one race will hunt racing driver Sierra Nox. The mission takes place around the racing track, in the midst of white day and in front of the crowd of people or visitors to this event.
The Hitman 2 will not bring any major innovations into its gameplay mechanics, but will return some of the cult elements of gameplay to the series. For example, in the game you will be given the option to carry a briefcase/suitcase where you can put a sniper or some other weapon. For the first time in the series, we will have hiding in the crowd options, or in bushes/other types of vegetation. Agent 47 will find new innovative weapons and eliminating tools, so we will be able for example to beat our target with a fish, or strangle it with a measuring tape and similar.
IO Interactive will continue to add new content to this game after its being released. It is likely that the Elusive Target missions will return, and there will be other new modes. One of these is available right now, provided the game is pre-ordered immediately. It's about Sniper Assassin mode, which is essentially a port of mobile game but with a new co-op gameplay mode where you can play for the first time in the Hitman series with a character other than Agent 47.
Hitman 2 will release on Steam, November 13th this year.
