Nvidia to buy Arm for $40 BILLION with a "B"

The rumored sale of Arm to Nvidia is apparently true, to the tune of $40 billion. The move could put a lot more Nvidia power in the palm of users' hands as Nvidia tries to expand into the mobile market. Arm has long been the processor of choice for a lot of mobile devices and the move by Nvidia to acquire them is telling of the Nvidia strategy down the road.

Perhaps more telling is the AI component of bringing Arm under the Nvidia roof. Both companies have ambitions to expand their footprint in the server world and with Nvidia's GeForce Now service already available to consumers, having server-friendly Arm processors more readily available could really bolster their position.

What do you think? Could you see this sale as a good thing for gaming and consumer markets? Are you excited for more AI breakthroughs from these companies?
